  ABOUT COACHING

Coaching helps you define where you want to be in life and how you’re going to get there.  It helps you identify goals and find your way forward. Your coach shares your journey giving 100% belief and commitment to you using specialist professional skills to provide support, inspiration, motivation and focus to achieve your goal.

Coaching takes a totally results-oriented approach to personal development.  It’s different to mentoring, counselling and consulting. Coaching focuses on the future, not the past and uses the resources and strengths within us to propel us forward and remove the obstacles and blocks that hold us back.  It’s action orientated, forward looking, non directive, non judgmental, very rewarding and results are fast!

There are many reasons why individuals or organisations choose to enlist the support of a coach and these centre around a desire for positive change.

Coaching can benefit

·         Lifestyle changes

·         Balancing life and/or career demands

·         Developing creativity and resourcefulness

·         Career management and development

·         Performance & Confidence

·         Personal and Family relationships

·         Business relationships

·         Communication

Personal Coaching

Personal Coaching centres on the individual. This might focus on a life stage issue such as a return to work after having children, concerns over the future following a redundancy, the desire for a career change, getting life back on track following the breakdown of a relationship, plans for retirement or achieving a balance between work and social life.  Coaching can also be useful for improving and developing relationships within the family circle, with friends or at work.

Many of us started out with a dream - perhaps not shared with anyone else – which got lost or side-lined along the way for all sorts of reasons. Coaching can be the catalyst which offers the support and motivation needed to bring dreams to fruition.

Some of us may not have a specific issue that needs addressing.  We just know that things aren’t right.  We may feel that something’s missing but can’t quite put our finger on it.  Coaching brings creativity and inspiration which results in life enhancing changes and different possibilities for the future.

Business and Corporate Coaching

In the professional world, coaches also facilitate all kinds of development within organisations whether it is with individuals or teams.  This can range from the chief executive who needs an independent person with whom to discuss his or her thoughts, decisions or life/work balance through to the team who want to work together more effectively. Professional Coaching is increasingly used by corporations worldwide to enhance personal development and advance team work – from Board level through to management trainee – to provide better job satisfaction and company performance.

The Coaching Relationship

The coach works entirely to the client’s agenda. It is the coach’s role to help the client get to where they want to go – not tell them where they should be.

The coaching sessions and the relationship between the coach and the client are absolutely confidential

Coaching requires commitment from both sides. The coach is 100% committed to helping the client reach their goals and the client must be equally committed to take the steps to help them get there.

"Perhaps it would be a good idea, fantastic as it sounds, to muffle every telephone, stop every motor and halt activity for an hour some day to give people a chance to ponder for a few minutes on what it is all about, why they are living and what they really want."

James Truslow Adams
(1878-1949) American historian
