Hello - whether you intended to land here on a
fact finding mission or arrived by serendipity - you’re very welcome!
I’m a Professional Coach and I specialise in
coaching individuals working in the Entertainment industry, the
Arts and Creative environments. I work on a one to one basis
with my clients focusing on life balance issues encompassing
career, personal and lifestyle development.
My career in the Entertainment industry spans 25
years working closely with, and in many cases managing,
artistically minded and talented people. I’ve also run several
successful companies. I understand the ambitions, energies,
hopes and fears which drive my clients. I know the elation of
standing at your winning post and I know the frustration of
facing obstacles and hurdles on the way. I understand the chaos
that your journey can bring to family and life-style. Most
importantly, I know how to help my clients find and set goals
and then plan their route to achieving them while keeping life
balanced and fun.
In addition to my experience in entertainment, I
trained for a year with the Coaching Academy, am a member of the
Association for Coaching and have an NLP Diploma.
I have a Coaching Practice and an Artist
Management company - both of which are based in the UK although
my clients’ careers and homes can be internationally based.
There’s a section which explains what coaching is
in general on this site if you’re not familiar with it and it’s
really worth having a look. Coaching is very powerful and is a
profession which is growing at a fast pace. It’s changing the
culture of enlightened international corporations and also
enhancing the lives of individuals all over the World.
My Background &
Coaching Philosophy
In the Eighties I was Director of a company whose
high profile clients included, amongst many others, David Bowie,
George Michael and Bob Geldof. Just starting out in my career
and being curious about everything, I watched with fascination
the psychology and practice of the personalities who were
achieving success and how this set them apart from those who
weren’t. Time and again over the years that followed, I noted
the same characteristics in people who set out to Live their
dreams as opposed to those who, like so many of us, just
….…dream.
What set them apart?
They knew what they wanted and believed it was attainable ie
they had a specific overall Goal and developed a plan (which was
varied and adapted along the way to make the most of
opportunities or circumnavigate obstacles) which led to its
achievement.
They had over-whelming passion for what they were doing and a
natural curiosity about everything to do with it!
All plans were undertaken with 100% commitment, motivation and
focus.
They jumped hurdles put in front of them and went in through the
window when the door was locked. Though they may have felt fear
or self doubt, they pressed on anyway.
And, invariably, as soon as they’d celebrated the success of a
Goal, their creativity, energy and curiosity got them looking
around again and off they’d go, fired up with enthusiasm for the
next part of their journey.
They weren’t doing anything different to people in all walks of
life, in all parts of the World, with all kinds of plans and
dreams. The same principles apply. We can make life better for
ourselves and those around us by having a Goal, a plan and the
desire and motivation to make it happen.
What often holds us back is that we are unsure of
where we want to be, or we know what we want but don’t have a
clue how to get there! Only 3% of us ever make a goal and a
plan – the other 97% of us spend our lives talking about the
life we would have had if we only had more time, more money,
less responsibility etc. Often our dreams are attainable if we
set a goal and make a plan.
This can be hard to do by yourself – particularly
if you have grown up with beliefs which undermine your
confidence and limit or sabotage you along the way. We also
need to know and understand what our values are in life so that
we live a life which feels balanced and is true to ourselves.
The missing link can simply be having an
experienced, skilled and trained supporter to walk with us along
the way, who has no agenda other than to help us develop a plan,
keep us motivated and on course, and celebrate with us once we
reach our goal.
My Coaching Practice
My clients include performers of all kinds,
musicians, songwriters, record producers, DJs, literary writers,
artists, designers, dancers, business entrepreneurs and
professionals working in creative areas. I also work with
people who are developing creative interests for personal
fulfillment or as additional income streams. A diverse range of
lovely people with creative minds and needs in common!

If your train's on the wrong track, every
station you come to is the wrong station.

"Perhaps it would be a good idea, fantastic as it
sounds, to muffle every telephone, stop every motor and halt
activity for an hour some day to give people a chance to ponder for
a few minutes on what it is all about, why they are living and what
they really want."
